Greens for MWRD at the Bughouse Square Debates

Join the Illinois Green Party (and many other participants) at one of Chicago's oldest and most entertaining free speech traditions!

This not-too-serious event, hosted by the Newberry Library, invites speakers to participate in free-form, unmoderated oratory, in the tradition of the IWW agitators and many others who mounted soapboxes in Chicago's Washington Square Park from the early 20th century through the 1960s. For more details, see the event website at: https://www.newberry.org/bughouse-square-debates

The Illinois Green Party will have a table at the event, and candidates will be mounting the soap boxes to speak on Green topics, including our Metropolitan Water Reclamation District campaign's presentation on "The Dirtiest Election in Cook County: Where Sewage and Politics Intersect."

Come join us for fun and freedom! We need one or two extra bodies to help staff our table, handing out literature and promoting the Green Party, so please reach out to volunteer@ilgp.org if you're able to help.

We'll see you at the Debates!
